Release Day! CLAIMED BY THE ROGUE + Giveaway

It’s Release Day for CLAIMED BY THE ROGUE, and this is a special-to-me day indeed for several reasons.

ClaimedByTheRogue_Cvr w Quote_300dpiFirst, CLAIMED BY THE ROGUE is my first single-title historical since I concluded my Men of Roxbury House trilogy in 2008.

Originally conceived as the sequel to my very first book, A ROGUE’S PLEASURE, originally published in 2000 by Berkley/Jove and now available as a digital book from Harlequin’s Carina Press.

CLAIMED BY THE ROGUE picks up six years later, in 1820. Lady Phoebe Tremont and (now) Captain Robert Bellamy finally have their opportunity at Happily Ever After. Only the course of true love rarely runs smoothly, not even in romance! The couple have several steep obstacles to surmount including a six year separation during which Robert was believed to have been drowned at sea.

rogue_276The book has a superbly beautiful cover thanks to the talented folks at Samhain Publishing. And gracing that cover is a phenomenally flattering quote from the insanely talented Anna Campbell.

Is it any wonder I feel like celebrating!?!

To that end, between today (3-4-14) and the end of the month (3-31-14), I will give away one e-book copy of my Victorian set romance,TEMPTING to everyone who purchases a copy of CLAIMED BY THE ROGUE anywhere online.

To receive your FREE copy, post your proof of purchase HERE, to THIS POST, and I will email you TEMPTING. (Offer limited to 1 book per individual).

It’s my way of saying thank you for all your support over the past 14 years–and almost 25 books. 🙂

Greetings from Oz

Hi Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary_Hope_w_Kaola_Feb_28_2013All!

I am writing this post from sunny Melbourne, the second stage of my Australian…progress. 😉

My tour started with the third annual Australian Romance Readers Conference, ARRC2013, in Brisbane where I was honored to present our first ever overseas Lady Jane’s Salon. Four fabulous guests (Cathy Maxwell, Keri Arthur, Amy Andrews & Anna Campbell), an enthusiastic audience of more than 100 attendees, and a bistro style setting cleverly created by conference coordinator Debbie Jay et al. contributed to a rousing success. Read more about the Salon program here.

Following Friday night’s Salon, I took off my co-founder cap and put on my author tiara. Panels and a book fair rounded out the week.

Around the conference, I managed to squeeze in trips to Carrumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and Mount Tambourine with fellow author, Cathy Maxwell. Cuddling koalas, hoisting wine glasses, and dining on Moreton Bay “bugs” (trust me, they’re a delicacy) made for a spectacularly fun week. Many thanks to the delightful Megan Bamford for her extraordinary hospitality and hostessing skills.

Before leaving Brisbane for Melbourne, I stopped by the legendary Rosemary’s Romance Books and visited with proprietress extraordinaire, Rosemary Potter.

Rosemary's Romance Books-StorefrontI’ve had the pleasure of seeing Rosemary stateside over the years, usually at RT BOOK Lovers conferences but catching up in her beautiful store was truly special. Wood paneled book shelves, a fainting couch, and myriad romance novels, all meticulously cataloged and shelved, had me wishing I might make a day of my visit rather than an hour. Along with a huge hug, I left er with a stack of bookmarks for my Suddenly Cinderella series.

Tonight I am meeting local author Alison Stuart for a candlelit ghost walk of Melbourne city. Boo!

I was one of more than 65 authors signing at the ARRC2013 Book Fair.

Next week, I depart for Sydney. Please stay tuned for an article on my Australian trip for the print version of RT BOOK Reviews magazine this summer.

Good’ay!

September Lady Jane’s Salon

The September Lady Jane’s Salon will take place on our usual first Monday of the month which happens to be the 6th…Labor Day!

We’re proud to host four great guest authors: Rebecca Rogers Maher, Cat Johnson, Cecilia Tan, and Michele Lang. Take two ticks, head over to the Lady Jane’s web site, and read Michele’s post on the thrills and chills of anticipating her Lady Jane’s reading. And, if you can, join us live on Monday, September 6th, 7-9 PM, at Madame X (94 W Houston Street). We’ll be giving away copies of Cecilia’s Ravenous Romance trade paperback release, MIND GAMES, to our first fifty guests as well as raffling two signed copies of Anna Campbell’s latest release.

Admission to the Salon is $5 or one gently-used romance novel with net proceeds to support a NYC area women’s charity.
